Greetings to all Psychotronic fans of the world. We are the Washington Psychotronic Film Society.
A group of film lovers who meet on a regular basis, screening some of the most Psychotronic films
in the world. The term Psychotronic was coined by the author of the Psychotronic Encyclopedia of Film,
Michael Weldon. He got it from the movie, "The Psychotronic Man." As in the term, alternative music,
Psychotronic falls into that catogory. Meaning just about everything except the Norm. Got that... good.
Now more about us. We're a bunch of people who love films. We come from all walks of life. Our members
and mailing list consists of regular Janes and Joes, Lawyers, computer geeks, film enthusiasts/geeks,
govt. workers, one millionaire, and the curious minded. What we're really all about is like..I know what....
try to imagine that you're watching a great film or a film that you've just got to tell someone about,
and you want to call a friend over to watch it with you. That's us, but on a larger scale. We call up
all our friends. Thanks to the Motion Picture Board of America, we were able to purchase an umbrella
license from them in order to show films in theaters and clubs in the DC area. Our membership is free
and we will never sell your name to another party. We just need donations to help pay for our license.
If you'd like to help out, send your name, address, phone number (optional) and a donation of $5 or more
if you'd like. No salesperson will call. Our address is:
The Washington Psychotronic Film Society ~Carl Cephas, prez of WPFS |
Each show is hosted by The Incorrigible Dr. Schlock. Arrive early for some rare eye-candy and groovy tunes. Stay late for some cheap prizes.

As usual, all screenings are free, but a donation ($2.00) is suggested.
The WPFS is a non-profit org. and is now in its 20th year. Founded in 1989 by Melanie Scott.

King Kong vs. Godzilla
(1962) Directed by Ishiro Honda
Some Japanese knuckleheaded businessmen decide to kidnap Big ole King Kong from his crib. Their plan is to have him go a
few rounds with their Bad Boy Godzilla who has just woken up from a deep sleep. All these giants wants to do is eat and
sleep...but no..they have to slap the bejeezus out of each other so they can find a place to crash. Why won't mankind
leave them alone? Where is King Kong's mama?
Wednesday,
Nov 12th,
8:30 PM
Sextette
(1978) Directed by Ken Hughes
Mae West stars in her last feature film based on a play of the same name with Dom Deluise, Keith Moon, Ringo Starr,
and Timothy Dalton. The highlight of this film is Mae and Timothy singing "Love Will Keep us Together."
Your eyes and ears will squeal with delight during the dance numbers. I would have loved to have seen 'Divine' do
a remake of this but alas Divine and Mae are long past dead, but that hasn't stopped Hollywood before.
ATTENTION, PLEASE! On Tuesday, November 18 the Washington Psychotronic Film Society
will be moving to a new location at The Meeting Place at 1707 L Street, NW in Washington, DC.
We will be returning to our regular Tuesday nights at 8:00 PM.

Dolemite
(1975) Directed by D'Urville Martin
Rudy Ray Moore (March 17, 1927 – October 19, 2008) Rest in Peace.
If there ever was a movie that explained the concept of what Psychotronic meant, Dolemite takes the f*cking cake.
Exposed boom mikes...Bad dialogue...Bad fashions...Bad-asses. Rudy Ray Moore created and plays the role of Dolemite,
a fast-talking, jive-ass pimpadelick chap who is released from jail early to solve a crime. His main, lady Queen Bee,
is in trouble so he jives and shoots the breeze to shake that damn devil from out of his tree. Any rat soup-eating
mutha-fuggas that don't make a pass get Dolemite's boot right up their monkey stinkin asses.
Tuesday,
Nov 25th,
8:00 PM
Faster, Pussycat! Kill! Kill!
(1965) Directed by Russ Meyer
Tura Satana, Haji, and Lori Williams are 3 ripe, sexy, voluptuous go-go dancers who kill a preppie nerd while drag racing.
The sole witness is a cry-baby girlie who they kidnap. They run into a hunky air-head and his nasty daddy while on the run.
Is the dirty old man holding onto a goldmine? The 3 babes, the kidnap victim, the hunky tard, and the dirty old man end up
playing a game of cats in heat. Meow!
